n response to the growing unrest in the state and to provide security for residents of the state, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has commissioned a new police station in the state.
The new station, named Elemoro Area J Police Command, was commissioned at Ibeju Lekki area of the State.
The Governor while commissioning the command with facilities which included conference centre, residence for the area commander, some accommodation for officers, offices, training ground and a full complement of holding bay for security at Ibeju Lekki, promised to give adequate support to the security operatives.
He stated that the government would try to finish up other facilities needed at the command by the end of the year
He expressed delight that the project which had been on for over eight years has been completed especially at a time there is a need to provide a conducive environment for security operatives in the state.
Also Speaking, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu thanked the Governor on behalf of the Inspector General of Police for providing the facility saying it would further help in improving the safety as well as security of lives and property of people in the axis.
Sanwo-Olu urged residents in the state to continue to be law abiding and security operatives especially during this period of lock down.
